Homes for Sale in Litchfield Park

Litchfield Park homes for saleOriginally known as Litchfield Ranch, the town of Litchfield Park traces it’s origins all the way back to 1916, when it’s founder, Paul Weeks Litchfield, came to Phoenix in search of farmland. Litchfield was an executive of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and needed a long-staple cotton to strengthen the rubber in the Goodyear company’s pneumatic tire.

Farmland was needed to grow this special cotton because previously it was only available from Egypt or the Sea Islands off the eastern coast of Georgia. Both sources had been either drastically reduced by German U-boats or devastated by the boil weevil, respectively. Unable to persuade local farmers to grow his cotton, he convinced Goodyear to form the Southwest Cotton Company and purchased several thousand acres of land, 5,000 of which around the present location of Litchfield Park.

Today, Litchfield Park is mostly known for the famous Wigwam Resort, one of the finest resorts in the state, if not the country, which fuels much of the small town’s revenue and industry. The homes for sale in Litchfield Park reflect this growth, being some of the finest homes in the region. While there are cozy townhomes available for as little as $100,000, the vast majority of Litchfield Park homes for sale are large, luxurious houses with at least three or more bedrooms and plenty of square footage for you and the family.

Large lots, beautiful architecture, and plenty of space are the signature features of homes in Litchfield Park, all available at modest, affordable prices. The town itself is small, with a population under 6,000, so it’s a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. If you’re looking for a peaceful, but active, community, look no further than Litchfield Park for your perfect dream home. Contact Cecelia and Camile to get the ball rolling today!
