Search Homes in Waddell
An unincorporated community in the northwest reaches of the Phoenix major metropolitan area, Waddell is often considered part of it’s rapidly growing neighboring town of Surprise. Even though Waddell predates Surprise by about three years, Surprise has grown much faster and so has absorbed much of the area surrounding Waddell in the thoughts and speech of people in the area, if not necessarily geographically.
The influence of the name can still be seen, however, in the name of Waddell Road, the main arterial street that runs through Surprise, as well as the New Waddell Dam at Lake Pleasant. The Waddell area itself can actually trace it’s roots all the way back to a citrus tree planted during the Great Depression by a local farmer named Truman on the corner of Waddell Road and Cotton Lane, which remained standing until February 2009.
Even though the town is rarely referred to by it’s own name anymore, there are plenty of good homes for sale in Waddell, AZ. The rapid development and growth of the neighboring town of Surprise has brought many people to the region, but not everyone wants to live right in the heart of said development. Waddell is just out of the way enough to allow you the conveniences of a growing community without the problems that can arise from rapid development like construction and noise.
The homes for sale in Waddell are ideal for a single family of any size, most having three of four bedrooms, though some even have five or six, perfect for big families or multi-generational households. Waddell homes are very affordable, with some starting as low as $120,000, but still has plenty of upscale luxury homes available too, with private lots, spacious driveways, and always beautiful architecture.
